Betfair Poker has given their internet poker site a facelift, out goes any part of the poker client that can be considered dull and dreary and in comes modern, fresh, clean and easy to use. Almost every aspect of the internet poker site has been improved on, even so on first inspection you may not immediately see very much different. It is after all still Betfair Poker, but it is smoother, slicker and with much enhanced end user options, the table views are fantastic with real attention to detail such as less obscure action buttons. It is still possible to change the table to suit your own preference and its possible to select your preferred colour to enhance your gameplay, colours available are red, blue or green tables.

WSOP legend ‘Amarillo Slim’ beaten and robbed

Poker legend Amarillo Slim has been beaten and robbed of cash and a ring, the value running to $93,000. It has been reported that the 80 year old WSOP tournament poker champion great had been collecting on a poker debt when he was attacked and suffered fractures to his hand, thumb and jaw. Amarillo Slim, real name Thomas Preston was treated in hospital for his injuries. The former WSOP tournament poker Champion has not had the best of luck when it comes to his safety; he was robbed only two years ago at his home, when robbers broke in stealing cash, a belt buckle that was specially made 40 years previous and shotguns. Another attempt to rob the tournament poker star was made in October 2006, when armed robbers in a car attempted to force him to hand over cash, luckily on this occasion the robbers where unsuccessful.

The Party Gaming Group which includes Party Poker, Party Casino, Party Bets, Party Bingo, Party Gammon and Party Markets has announced that Jim Ryan, the Group Chief Executive will assume all of O’Malia’s duties.
