Startling news has arrived from Playboy Gaming in Poker Hideout’s inbox. After hearing rumours that Playboy Gaming, which includes Playboy Poker and Playboy Casino, was intending to close at the end of January we contacted their Customer Service department immediately to find out if there was any basis to the rumours and received the following reply:
“Hello and thank you for contacting the Playboy gaming support team.
With reference to your email regarding the account with Playboy Gaming, please note that Playboy Gaming will be closing down on January 29th.
It has been our pleasure working to provide you with the very best in online wagering and we hope that you enjoyed the time you spent playing with us.

From its origins in 1953, Hugh Hefner’s ‘Playboy’ name has been synonymous with adult content, pretty girls and hedonistic lifestyles. The imminent closure of the sites has been blamed by some commentators on the USA’s Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, and that the Playboy online gambling sites are victims of this Act which does not allow US players to participate in online gambling. There is certainly nothing to suggest that the Playboy Empire itself is suffering any form of hardship at present and it is unlikely that the Playboy group as a whole will be affected by the decision to close this particular division down.
