Titan Poker recently staged a special online poker free roll ‘Lords of Poker’ satellite tournament in which qualifiers had the opportunity to take part in the Dutch Lords of Poker qualifying Tournament. Online Poker players who qualify in this tournament will eventually play in the final Lords of Poker Tournament which is open to only the great and good in the Dutch poker world. Three unknown Titan poker players managed to play online poker exceptionally well during the satellite which then enabled them to reach the qualifier. The three Titan Poker players Rik Broekhuize, Elly Steijn and Paul Wijnveld then took part in the final qualifier at the Beurs Van Berlage Hall in Amsterdam on the 6th February. This event had 600 players taking part and the three Titan online poker players managed to play well, so much so that they have now been declared Lords of Poker.

Rik Broekhuize, Elly Steijn and Paul Wijnveld will now play in the eight event official Lords of Poker tournament, which has only the top Dutch players taking part. The prestigious event is filmed live and will be shown on Dutch television station RTL, the winner of the tournament will receive the title ‘Lords of Poker Champion’. Players are usually only retain their place in the Lords of Poker for one year as there are only ever 10 places vacant each year, the other 30 members of the Lords of Poker are permanent members and are made up of professional poker players, athletes and businessmen.

Elly Steijn is honoured to take part and clearly being female has not hindered her poker play in what is a largely male dominated game. Clearly she has every reason to be pleased with her performance as only the best poker players get to take part in this prestigious tournament.
