The World Poker Tour

The World Poker Tour (WPT) has increased the popularity of Texas Hold’em across America, it has also has increased international awareness not only of poker in general but also of the world class poker players that have now become household names across the globe. The likes of Daniel Negreanu are now so well know for participating and winning $5,527,510 in prize money from tournaments in the WPT, helped not only be the online presence of the World Poker Tour but also by the television exposure that these exciting events bring each year.

The World Poker Tour has been running since 2002 and is sponsored by both online poker sites and brick and mortar casinos. The world famous tournament attracts a broad spectrum of players from the top online and/or casino poker players to those that have managed to buy-in at prices starting from $2,500 and rising to $25,000 or win a satellite poker tournament for their seat.
